METALFORM Mexico Surpasses All Expectations

CLEVELAND, OH—October 15, 2007—Top executives and professionals in the metalforming industry viewed the latest advancements in press and forming technologies, assembly automation and value-added services at METALFORM Mexico—Mexico’s only focused metal stamping and fabricating exposition and conference. Held September 25-27, 2007, at the Cintermex in Monterrey, the fourth edition of METALFORM Mexico featured 179 exhibitors offering equipment and services designed to help companies improve productivity and efficiency. More than 2,000 attendees visited the trade show, marking a nearly 40 percent surge in attendance compared to the last Monterrey event.

On hand at the opening ceremonies: Bill Gaskin, president of the Precision Metalforming Association (PMA), which sponsors METALFORM; Professor Ma. Gabriela Dib, Undersecretary of Industry and Commerce of the State; and Geoffrey Bogard, the consul of commercial subjects of the United States.

Complementing the exhibits was the Educational Conference, where 130 engineers and production personnel learned the latest information related to forming technologies and equipment, tool and die design and build, and materials and coil processing. In attendance were some of the biggest names in metalforming, including employees from Robert Bosch, Estampadas Magna, Denso Mexico, Industrias Rheem and Polaroid. Conference attendance surpassed all expectations, doubling the number of participants from last year’s sessions.

The highlight of the conference was a 3-hr. detailed presentation on tool and die problem solving, attended by 108 people. At the conclusion of the presentation, attendees acknowledged the importance of sharing knowledge and best practices.

METALFORM Mexico alternates each year between Mexico City and Monterrey, effectively covering the entire Mexican metalforming market. The show is sponsored by the Precision Metalforming Association (PMA), the full-service trade association representing the $91-billion metalforming industry of North America, and co-organized by Trade Show Consulting (TSC), which has been producing shows in Mexico since 1992.
