METALFORM Mexico Gains Media Attention

CLEVELAND, OH—September 19, 2006—PMA staff and METALFORM exhibitors addressed the Mexican media on September 12, 2006, to introduce new features of the 2006 METALFORM Mexico show and to explain how the event differs from other general industrial shows. Thirty-three participants attended the press conference representing 17 media sources including television, national newspapers and industry trade magazines (list included below).

During the press conference, presentations were given by Romeo Gomez of Troquelados de Batesville, Alberto Sanchez of MOLTRO and Jose Castillo of Promotores Tecnicos, S.A. de C.V. Gomez reinforced the demand for local suppliers through his own experiences and identified key components of his company that are sought after by his customers. Sanchez explained the educational needs for tool and die professionals and discussed the activities that will take place at METALFORM's Tool & Die Discovery Day. Finally, Castillo presented industry statistics that showed the need for new equipment investments to fortify the growth expected in the near future as well as in the long-term.

The exposition, which is being held November 7-9 at Centro Banamex in Mexico City, includes such new aspects as the Tool and Die Discovery Day and Tooling Technology Pavilion, which will showcase local tool and die sources; an online exhibitors' directory that will help exhibitors and attendees stay connected and find business sources before and after the show; and an expanded educational conference, which specifically targets tool and die, metal stamping, business optimization, and value-added processes and technologies.

METALFORM Mexico alternates each year between Mexico City and Monterrey, effectively covering the entire Mexican metalforming market. The show is sponsored by the Precision Metalforming Association (PMA), the full-service trade association representing the $41-billion metalforming industry of North America, and co-organized by Trade Show Consulting (TSC), which has been producing shows in Mexico since 1992.
